Spider Solitaire (2 Suit)
Two-suit Spider Solitaire — the medium challenge. Difficulty: Medium.
Objective
Clear all 104 cards from the tableau by assembling eight complete sequences of
thirteen cards of the same suit in descending order — King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9,
8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace. Whenever a full same-suit King-to-Ace run is completed
in a column, it is automatically lifted off to a foundation. Complete all eight
and you win.
Setup
This variant is played with 104 cards using two suits (spades and hearts).
•
Tableau — 54 cards are dealt into ten columns: the first four columns get
six cards, the remaining six columns get five. The top card of every column is
face up; the rest are face down.
•
Stock — the remaining 50 cards stay face down. They are dealt out later,
ten at a time (five deals in all).
How to Play
You may make as many moves as you like before dealing from the stock.
Moving cards
•
Build down, ignoring suit. A card may be placed onto any face-up card
exactly one rank higher — a 6 goes onto any 7, regardless of suit.
•
Move runs only when they match. You build down using either suit, but you can only move a group of cards together when they are all the same suit.
•
Reveal hidden cards. When you move the cards off a face-down card, it is
flipped face up and becomes playable.
•
Empty columns are wild. A cleared column may receive any card or valid
run — not just a King.
Dealing from the stock
When you are stuck (or choose to), click the stock to deal one new face-up card
to the bottom of every column.
•
The golden rule: you may not deal while any column is empty. Fill every
empty space first.
Completing a sequence
As soon as a full King-to-Ace run of one suit forms at the base of a column, it
is removed automatically to a foundation. Assemble all eight sequences to win.
Strategy
1.
Uncover face-down cards first — that is the early game.
2.
Empty columns are gold — they are the most flexible space on the board.
3.
Build by suit whenever you can — mixed stacks trap the cards beneath them.
4.
Wait to deal — a deal drops a card on every column and can bury your work.
Winning
You win when all eight King-to-Ace sequences have been collected (all 104 cards
removed from the tableau).
