Rock Paper Scissors
The classic hand game of strategy and anticipation. Predict your opponent's throw and choose wisely!
Objective
2 Players: Be the first to win 3 rounds.
3–6 Players: Be the last player standing in an elimination tournament.
The Shapes
•
Rock (fist) — Crushes Scissors
•
Paper (flat hand) — Covers Rock
•
Scissors (two fingers) — Cuts Paper
How to Play
2-Player Mode
1.
Both players simultaneously choose Rock, Paper, or Scissors.
2.
The winner of the round is determined by the classic rules:
3.
If both players choose the same shape, the round is a tie and nobody scores. Play again immediately.
4.
The first player to win 3 rounds wins the game.
Multiplayer Mode (3–6 Players)
In multiplayer, the game uses elimination rules:
1.
All players simultaneously choose Rock, Paper, or Scissors.
2.
After all choices are revealed, the round is resolved:
Tie (no eliminations): A round is a tie if:
•
Everyone throws the same shape, OR
•
All three shapes are represented (they cancel each other out in a circle)
Elimination: A round eliminates players only when exactly two of the three shapes are thrown:
•
All players who chose the losing shape are eliminated
•
All players who chose the winning shape advance to the next round
3.
Play continues until only one player remains — that player wins!
Examples
•
4 players throw: Rock, Rock, Rock, Scissors → Scissors loses. The Scissors player is eliminated.
•
5 players throw: Rock, Paper, Scissors, Rock, Paper → All three shapes present. Tie — play again.
•
3 players throw: Paper, Paper, Paper → All same shape. Tie — play again.
•
6 players throw: Rock, Rock, Paper, Paper, Rock, Rock → Paper covers Rock. The 4 Rock players are eliminated, 2 Paper players remain.
Strategy Tips
•
In 2-player games, try to read your opponent's patterns.
•
In multiplayer, consider what the majority might throw.
•
There is no mathematically optimal strategy — the best approach against a skilled opponent is to choose randomly!
