Pig
Overview
Pig is a frantic party card game for 4–8 players. Pass cards left until someone collects four of a kind, then race to press Nose. The last player to press loses the round.
Objective
Do not be the last player to press Nose after someone collects four of a kind.
Deck Construction
For P players, the deck uses P ranks, four cards of each rank (one per suit), totaling 4×P cards.
This digital version uses Ace (low) through the P-th rank. Example: 5 players → Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5 (20 cards).
Setup
1.
Build the reduced deck for the seated player count.
2.
Shuffle and deal four cards to each player.
Passing
During passing, each player always holds four cards (except briefly during a pass beat):
1.
Choose one card to pass to the left (into the pass staging slot).
2.
When every player has selected a card, all passes resolve together: each player receives the card from their right-hand neighbor.
3.
Repeat until someone has four of a kind and presses Nose.
You may not hold more than four cards; select a pass before the next beat begins.
Four of a Kind and Nose
•
When your hand is four of a kind, stop passing and press Nose.
•
When any player presses Nose, a reaction race begins: every player must press Nose as quickly as possible — even without four of a kind.
•
Any cards already staged to pass return to their owners' hands when Nose is first pressed.
•
The last player to press Nose loses the round. Everyone else wins.
Winning
Round mode (this release): Last to Nose loses; the other players win. Rematch for another round.
Elimination mode (not in this release): Letters P–I–G for last place across rounds; out at PIG.
Digital Notes
•
Passes use discrete beats (everyone locks a card, then all resolve) so online play stays fair.
•
Nose uses realtime actions so reaction order is server-authoritative.
•
Hands are private; opponents see card backs and counts only.
