Napoleon at St. Helena
Single-deck Forty Thieves cousin — ten columns of four, same-suit builds, King-only spaces.
Objective
Build all four suits on the foundations from Ace through King, clearing the tableau and stock/waste.
Setup
1.
Deck: One standard 52-card deck, shuffled.
2.
Tableau: Ten columns of four cards, all face up (40 cards).
3.
Stock: The remaining 12 cards, face down.
4.
Waste: Empty at the start.
5.
Foundations: Four empty piles (one per suit).
Building Rules
Foundations
•
An empty foundation accepts only an Ace.
•
Build up in suit (A, 2, 3, … K).
•
Cards may come from a tableau column top or the waste top.
Tableau
•
Build down in the same suit (e.g. 6♥ on 7♥).
•
Move one card at a time — packed sequences are not allowed.
•
Empty columns accept a King only (from a column top or the waste).
Stock and Waste
•
Turn one card at a time from stock to waste.
•
Only the top waste card is available for play.
•
When the stock is empty there are no redeals.
Winning
You win when all 52 cards sit on the four foundations (each Ace through King).
Stuck / Restart
If no legal moves remain and the stock is exhausted, the deal is stuck — restart for a new shuffle.
