Emperor
Objective
Move all 104 cards (two standard decks) onto eight foundation piles, each built up in suit from Ace to King.
Setup
1.
Deck: Two standard 52-card decks shuffled together (104 cards).
2.
Tableau: Ten columns of four cards each, dealt by rows:
•
Rows 1–3: face down (sealed packets).
3.
Stock: The remaining 64 cards, face down.
4.
Waste: Empty at the start.
5.
Foundations: Eight empty piles above the tableau.
Building Rules
Foundations
•
Start each foundation with an Ace.
•
Build up in suit (A, 2, 3, … K).
•
Eight foundations total — two complete Ace-through-King runs per suit across the two decks.
Tableau
•
Build down in alternating colors (red on black, black on red).
•
Only face-up cards may be moved.
•
When a face-down card is exposed, it flips face up automatically.
•
Packed sequences that are validly built (down, alternating color) may move as a unit.
•
Empty columns may be filled with any card or any legal packed sequence.
Stock and Waste
•
Turn one card at a time from stock to waste.
•
The top waste card is always available for play to the tableau or foundations.
•
When the stock is empty there are no redeals — play continues with the waste and tableau until you win or no moves remain.
Winning
You win when all 104 cards sit on the eight foundations.
Stuck / Restart
If no legal moves remain and cards are still off the foundations, the deal is stuck — restart for a new shuffle.
