Straight Dominoes
Straight Dominoes is one of the most popular domino games, easy to learn and great fun for 2 to 4 players.
Equipment
A standard double-6 domino set containing 28 tiles. Each tile has two halves showing 0 to 6 pips (dots).
Setup
1.
All 28 tiles are placed face down and shuffled
2.
Each player draws 7 tiles for their hand
3.
Remaining tiles form the boneyard (draw pile)
4.
The player holding the highest double plays first. If no player has a double, the player with the highest total on a single tile goes first
How to Play
Playing a Tile
On your turn, play one tile from your hand by matching one of its ends to an open end of the chain. The touching ends must have the same pip value.
On screen, pick a tile from your hand, then press one of the gold markers on the table. Each marker sits at an open end and shows the pips a tile must match there.
The Spinner
The first double played becomes the spinner. The spinner can be played on all four sides: one tile to each side (left and right), and later one tile to each end (top and bottom).
All other doubles are placed normally and do not create additional branches.
Drawing
If you cannot play any tile from your hand, you must draw from the boneyard one tile at a time until you find a playable tile or the boneyard is empty.
Passing
If you cannot play and the boneyard is empty, your turn is skipped.
End of Round
The round ends when:
•
Domino Out: A player plays their last tile. That player wins the round.
•
Blocked: No player can make a legal play and the boneyard is empty. The player (or partnership) with the fewest total pips remaining in their hand wins. If tied, the round is a draw.
