Clock Solitaire
Also known as Clock Patience, Travelers, or Hidden Cards — a classic single-player game of pure luck played with the Chronos Deck, a clockwork-themed 52-card pack.
Objective
Turn all 52 cards face-up into their correct four-of-a-kind hour piles before the fourth King is placed in the center.
The Chronos Deck
Instead of a French-suited pack, Clock Solitaire uses the Chronos Deck:
Ranks still run Ace (1) through King (13).
Setup
1.
Shuffle the Chronos Deck (52 cards, no jokers).
2.
Deal face-down into 13 piles of 4 cards each.
3.
Arrange 12 piles in a circle as a clock face (1 through 12 o'clock).
4.
Place the 13th pile in the center (the King pile).
5.
Turn the top card of the center pile face-up to begin.
Card Values & Positions
How to Play
1.
Look at the face-up card in hand (starting from the center).
2.
Place it face-up under the pile that matches its rank.
3.
Draw the top face-down card from that same pile — that becomes your new card in hand.
4.
Repeat: place by rank, then draw from the pile you just placed on.
5.
Whenever you place a King, draw the next face-down card from the center pile.
There are no choices — each placement is forced. The game is entirely determined by the shuffle.
Winning and Losing
Win: All 52 cards are face-up in their correct piles.
Lose: The fourth King is placed in the center while any face-down cards remain on the clock. With the center empty, the chain cannot continue.
The odds of winning are exactly 1 in 13 (about 7.6%).
