Card Bingo
Overview
Card Bingo is a lively party card game for two to eight players. Everyone receives a small face-up hand dealt from a shuffled double deck. A designated caller flips cards from a separate third deck and announces each card by rank and suit. Whenever a called card matches one in your hand, flip that card face down. The first player to flip every card in their hand shouts Bingo and wins the round.
Because the call deck is a complete 52-card deck of its own and is never dealt from, every card face is guaranteed to be called — no hand card can ever be stranded.
Objective
Be the first player to turn all of your hand cards face down after matching called cards.
Setup
1.
Players: 2–8 seats (classic paper Bingo sometimes seats up to ten; this digital build uses the platform’s eight-player maximum). Player 1 starts as the caller (the caller also holds a hand and can win). The caller seat rotates between games: Player 1 calls the first game, Player 2 the next, and so on round the table.
2.
Packs: Three standard 52-card decks (no jokers), used in two separate stacks:
•
Deal deck — two decks (104 cards) shuffled together. Hands are dealt only from here, so two players can legitimately hold the same card.
•
Call deck — the third deck (52 cards) shuffled on its own. It is only ever called from, never dealt from.
3.
Deal: Each player is dealt five cards face up from the deal deck. Leftover deal-deck cards stay face down and out of play for the round.
4.
Players may arrange their face-up cards however they like; order does not matter.
Turn Structure
Play is realtime — there are no alternating turns. The caller reveals cards; everyone reacts when they have a match.
1.
The caller taps Call to flip the top card of the call deck face up onto the call pile.
2.
The system shows the called card (rank and suit).
3.
Any player who holds the exact matching card (same rank and suit) taps that card to flip it face down.
4.
The caller may reveal the next card only after every remaining face-up match for the current call has been marked (or if nobody holds a match).
5.
Repeat until someone wins.
The call deck is never reshuffled — it holds each of the 52 faces exactly once, so at most 52 calls are made and someone always reaches Bingo by the time it is spent.
Valid Moves / Actions
•
Call — only the current caller; reveals the next call card when no unmarked matches remain for the latest call.
•
Mark — any player; flip a face-up hand card that exactly matches the top called card’s rank and suit.
You cannot flip a card that was not called. Only exact rank-and-suit matches are legal (the Bicycle default).
Winning
As soon as a player’s hand has no face-up cards left, that player wins the round — Bingo!
Special Rules & Variants
•
Caller participates: The caller has a hand like everyone else and marks matches the same way.
•
Call history: Previously called cards stay face up in the call pile (newest on top) so the table can verify marks.
•
Duplicate cards: Because hands come from a double deck, two players may hold the same rank and suit. One call lets both of them mark it — that is intentional, and it is why the call deck is a third deck rather than the remainder of the deal deck.
•
Six-card hands (optional house rule): With eight or fewer players, some tables deal six cards instead of five. This digital build uses five-card hands.
•
Rank-only (optional house rule, off by default): Some tables announce rank only and flip every card of that rank. Not enabled in this digital build — matching is always rank and suit.
End Conditions
•
Round win: One player’s entire hand is face down immediately after a legal mark.
•
Session “best of N” scoring is left to the party host outside a single engine game.
